MAHYTEC, LAUREATE OF WORLDWIDE INNOVATION CHALLENGE

Two of the funders of MAHYTEC, Dominique PERREUX and Pascal ROBINET have been invited at the Elysée by the French President François Hollande at the end of July as laureate of the Worldwide Innovation Challenge.

This competition Innovation 2030 calls for challenges from innovative companies all over the world. The jury, chaired by Anne LAUVERGEON, has selected 110 laureates from more than 1200 projects.

Only 14 projects were retained in the field of energy storage, among them stands the project RHYMOVE presented by the MAHYTEC company.

MAHYTEC is a company based in Dole, in the French Jura and created in 2008, specialized in the design and manufacturing of hydrogen storage systems.

MAHYTEC proposes compressed hydrogen storage systems, made of a polymer liner reinforced with composite materials, which are able to resist to high pressure, but also  hydrogen solid storage systems. This second technology relies on an absorption phenomenon of the hydrogen in a material, called hydride and allows a storage at low pressure.

RHYMOVE project introduced for this challenge is an alternative solution which takes benefit from the advantages of both storage technologies and minimizes the disadvantages.

A grant of approximately 200 000€ will ensure the development of this project and allows MAHYTEC to propose soon a prototype of the first hyride hydrogen storage system.
